The name of Crayola’s ‘flesh’ colored crayon, or the crayon presently known as Peach, was changed in 1962 in response to the Civil Rights movement. It was said the change was to encourage others to see the world in shades of black and peach (really, Crayola wanted to avoid any legal issues that may have arisen from such a Eurocentric crayon color)

However, what if all skin tones were simply seen as flesh and not any color at all???
